MU^AL EDUCATION IN OUR SCHOOLS IS SPLENDID THINGA splendid feature of the work of our Marble schools is the department of music which has been broadened under the direction of Prof. Pease until it now is practically a part of the course of study for those who have talent in mu-lr i sic. Credits are given for musical advancement the same as any other study of the school course. Paul J. Tischhau-ser, for so many years at the head of bands and orchestras here, has been employed by the board of education to teach in the musical department and he devotes two nights a week to instructing those who have elected to learn music. On Tuesday night of each week Mr. Tischhauser takes the beginners for a lesson, whiie on Thursday evenings the beginners and more advanced pupils all meet together. The following is a roster of the musical department:Piano Birdie Ragsdale.Cornet Emil Gowatch, Clarence Downing, Harold Tischhauser, William Hodgson, Buster Brown.Clarinet—Homer Goodwin, Leopold Leigl.Trombone—Harold Haxby.Alto —Edward Randle, Kenneth Goodwin.Cello Oscar Tischhauser, Charles Dever.Viola—Nihl Budlong.Violins - Lawrence Dever, Eugene Ro-s j setta, Luella Myers, George Barnes, Zelma Vandeventer, Cecil Pease.Trap drums Clyde Messenger.
