AN EXCURSION TRAIN TO RUN DOWN TOMORROW. Boston Bloomer Girls to Play at Snowflake Park To morrow. The Gilt Edge team will try conclu sions with the Stockton men at the Slough City tomorrow, and as the two clubs occupy first and second places in the tournament series now being played, a hard battle is anticipated. It has been definitely esttled that Hughes and Mertes will occupy the points for the home team, while Harper and Peters will do the honors for the Stocktons. A special train of five cars will be run from Sacramento to Stockton tomor row, leaving at 9:30 a. m. and starting on the return trip at 8 o'clock, and it is expected that a great number of Gilt Edge cranks and rooters will be on board. The Stockton papers expect at least 500 of them to accompany the team. BLOOMER GIRLS TOMORROW. Boston Bloomer Girls’ aggrega tion of ball tossers will be in town Sun day next and will be the attraction at Snowflake Park. They will go up against a picked nine and it is mildly asserted that the locals will have their hands full before the game is over. It is understood, however, that the girls from bean-town are good dodgers and that they will not fly out to the home people without a deal of trouble. A pitcher, Maud Nelson, is said to be thoroughly proficient in all the known and unknown curves, and it will be a curiosity in itself to see a woman who can throw a ball. In the game in San Francisco the Athletic Club team only beat the Bloomers by a score of 14 to 13. Their opponents tomorrow will be the strongest players in the city outside of the Gilt Edges. The line-up will be as follows: Boston Bloomers. Picked Nine. Mail Williams ..Catcher...... The visitors are a team with plenty of ginger and play fastball. A sall ad mission fee will be charged to meet the expenses incurred. R. A. Then the twenty-two babies entered were marshalled upon the dais, under a canopy of laurel and smilax, and there was not a homely youngster in the lot. The judges chosen to pass upon the merits of the babes were Mrs. F. Page, Mrs. Bella Mills and Mrs. J. Emery, and that they were not more than an hour arriving at their conclusions speaks volumes for them. While the judges were comparing notes refreshments were served, and the good things offered disappeared as though by magic. Finally the pastor, Rev. Jones, suc ceeded in inducing the judges to settle their differences, and when compara tive quiet was gained, announced the prize-winners as follows.
