Staff Installed In Rites Here Installation of officers featured the 40th anniversary celebration of Council Saint Therese, No. 160, Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph hall with guests present from councils in Sanford, Port land and Saco. The installing staff included Councillor General Romeo Gen dron, Sanford, as president; Al ban Bastarache, Sanford, vice president; Ernest Valliere, Saco, honorary president; Ernest Chenard, Saco, deyenne, and Napoleon Nadeau, chairman of the ceremonies. Those taking office were Rev Msper; J. A. Laflamme, spiritual director; Miss Alice Desilets, honorary president; Mrs. Bertha Guerin, president; Mrs. Annie Bouchard, vice-president; Miss Yvonne Huot, secretary; Mrs. Alexina Beaudoin, assistant sec retary; Miss Helen Lauziere, col lector; Miss Blanche Metayer, treasurer; Mrs. Beatrice Cote and Mrs. Berangere Millette, audit ors; Miss Gabrielle Nadeau, mistress of ceremonies; Mrs. Rebecca Duchette and Mrs. Con stance Valliere, commissaire or donnatrices, and Mrs. Lydia Metayer, caisse’ infantile. Msgr. Laflamme extended con gratulations to the councils, and remarks were also made by Councillor General Gendron, Nadeau and Mrs. Guerin, presi dent, who extended a special in vitation to Msgr. Laflamme to attend the golden jubilee of the council. Miss Helene Thivierge also addressed the meeting and paid homage to the two surviving founders of the council, Mrs. Julie Spenard, Lowell, Mags., and Mrs. Catherine Roy, were present. Corsages were sented to the founders and to the president, Mrs. Guerin, and Miss Helene Lauziere was presented a black purse in recognition of her 23 years service as collector. Founder Honored A moment of silence was ob served in honor of the late Mrs. Nellie Bonneau, a founder of the Equippe Jeanne d’Arc. Other founders were Miss Alice Desil ets and Joseph Croteau, state or ganizer. The program was opened by a iane march played by Mrs. Laure Proulx, and guests were in troduced by the master and mis tress of ceremonies, Theode Lan gevin and Miss Gabrielle Nadeau. A musical program was pre sented by the lyric trio, Mrs. Laura Lauren Proulx, Mrs. Alice Nolette and Charles Proulx, who sang “The National Anthem,” by Keyes; “Les Bohemienne,” by Brahms; “La Fontaine de Cara ouet,” by Omer Leforey; “Al louette;’ “N’aie Pas Peur de Moie,” by Roland Beaudry, and “O Canada.” The stage was decorated with baskets of fall leaves and the numerals 40, and Leon Noel, dec orator, used chrysanthemums to decorate the table on which lunch was served by the committee. The council was founded March 8, 1906, and its first president was Mrs. Jean Martel. Other presi dents in order of their terms were Mrs. Alice DelaBruere, Miss Catherine Joncas, Mrs. Zulma Staples, Miss Albina Villandry, Miss Bertha Auger, now Mrs. Guerin, Mrs. Louise Poirier, Miss Corinne Reny, Mrs. Blanche Moreau, Miss Claudia Boisvert, Miss Irene Auger, Mrs. Marie Lesieur, Mrs. Emela Auger, Miss Suzelle Robichaud, Mrs. Beran gere Millette, Miss Laurette Lam bert, Mrs. Berengere Millette, Mrs.Bella Hotte, Miss Alice Desilets and Mrs. Guerin,
