In line with the program of plays to be produced on the stags of the Norwich high school build ing by the Dramatic Society, the “Twilight Saint’’ has been put into rehearsal for presentation to the public Friday, November 2, at 8 o'clock. The play is an indica tion of the work being done by the Dramatics I class and will be one of many produced through the winter at intervals of two weeks The public has been cor dially invited to witness ‘‘The Twilight Saint.’ Following is the ‘cast which will participate and the names of students who will handle the technical details of the production Time---1215. Place—Bovagna, Italy. Setting—Peasant’s cottage. Characters— ‘Guido, the husband, a young poet, Vincent Marshall Lisetta, his invalid wife Mary Lou Farnham Pia, an old peasant neighbor Stella Evans St. Francis of Assist Bernard Curley staying and lighting— John Frank, Herbert Tiffany, Frank Paint, Charles Ray, LeRoy Seeley, Bill Ziegler Costumes— Properties— Review of ‘Smilin’ Thru. The comedy drama ‘Smilin’ Thru” played to over 500 people it the high school auditorium Fri day evening and was highly en joyed by an enthusiastic audience, in spite of the usual annoyances connected with home talent pro duction Mrs. Ruth Halbert, director, quishes to express her sincere appreciation for the cooperation »of all members of the cast who zave so generously of time and effort to make the play possible They did splendid work, consider ing the handicap of having no dress rehearsal because the audi torium was not available until late Friday afternoon Also she wishes to thank Chief Brookins for the use of the city hall for rehearsals and the Ameri can Legion for the use of their piano in the hall, and the William Breese Co. and George Devine for furniture and grass mats, Snell the Florist for ferns and palms, the Associated Gas and Electric Co. for lighting effects used on stage, and members of the stage crew, engaged by Leon Carter, all of whom worked diligently to make the stage setting one of pleasing beauty The play was sponsored by the Y's Men's Club of the Y.
