MANY SPEAKERS ATcpAnMany interesting speakers appeared on the program at the all-day gathering of the Congregational Women sMissionary Society of Kern county held Tuesday at the Shatter church. Many delegates were in attendancefrom Bakersfield and other parts ofthe county.Mrs. G. W. Kitzmiller of Bakersfield, district secretary, was one of the morning speakers as well as Miss Mary Buns of Bakersfield, who talked on ‘ Why I Am Interested in Missionary Work”; Mrs. E. Y Partridge of Partridge who presented a thank offering demonstration, the Rev. J. A. MacDonald, of Shatter, moderator of the Kern association, Mrs. AbbieChapin of Paoting-Fu, China, who has been a mission worker in the orient for the past 38 years; and Mrs. E. B. Adams of South Pasadena, who talked of the missionary work being carried on in old Mexico,Reports were presented by various societies, and various leaders introduced.A potluck luncheon was served at noon at the Woman’s club. The tables were handsomely decorated with autumn leaves and bunches of grapes, while the room itself was decked in Halloween suggestions. An evening session was also held by the women.A pageant was presented at the afternoon session by the Maricopa women, and Mrs. R. Ballagh was the vocalist.8nCo'elt;\
