A, H. OlmsteadDie* Here MondayMr. Adelbert Henry Olmstead died on Monday night October 25 1920,after an illness of several weeks in hia seventy-fourth year. He was born at East Masonville, Deleware County, N. Y. March 7 1846, and was a son of John and Delila (Talt-man) Olmsted.Mr. Olmsted has made his home in Andrews for some time and was living alone. During his illness his brother Masons have been most kind and attentive to him. The funeralfedservices were conducted by the Rev-D. D. Jones at the Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 O’clock and the remains were taken to Atlan-ita Ga., for interment.I Mr. Olmsted has held many important positions both in the North and South where he has many friends.Having graduated from the Dele-ware Institute, Franklin N. Y. in 1867, he was for three years employ-as a civil engineer with the Mid- ( land railroad, now the Ontario and Western. He was later engaged in civil engineering work with severalrailroads in New Jersey. In 1888 he entered the services of the East Jersy Water Company, and from 1894 to 1904 he was City Engineer of Bloomfield New Jersey. In 1892 and 1893 he was chief engineer of the Minnesota Canal Co., of Minn., and also made the preliminary survey for the Passic Valley sewer from Patterson N. J. to New York Bay. In 1904 he was resident engineer of York, Pa., sewerage system. In 1905 he was chief engineer of the sewerage works at Marion, S. C. of the Bllack River water Co., Georgetown, and of the water works at Hartsvile, S. C. In October 1907 he was appointed bv the State Engineer Skene a special resident engineer in the State Engineering Department. In 1909 hewas appointed chief engineer of theEast Orange and Ampere Land Co. !Mr. Ollmsted was a Mason and a member of the American Public Works Association. On February 14 1870 he maried Mary L. Kerr of Middletown, N. Y.. Mr. Olmsteds office addres was 247 North 18th St. East Orange N. J.
