TOWN OF ULYSSES.At a Meeting of the Democratic Whigs of fiie Town of Ulysses held at the house ofD. E. l.amkin on the 23rd day October insf., DANIEL BAItTO was appointed Chairman; W B. GODDARD and DAVID TREMBLY. Secretaries.The object of the Meeting being explained by W. B. Goddard, the following Resolutions were submitted and adopted.Resolved, That as Farmers and Mechanics we consider it highly important to our interest that our government should be administered in its original purity, but with deep regret we hate seen party measures only pursued, instead of kind regard for the general welfare; and consequently hare suffered by She stagnation of business, and in the depreciation in the prices of our agricultural productions, therefore duty to ouiselves and families, demand the overthrow of the present dominant party.Resolved, That the frequent exhibitions of Gold toms by Tory Office-Holders and demagogues, and naming it in honor of their Master “Jackson Money” serves to show the extreme point of slavery and degradation to which they hare advanced, and ought to remind every American that in ail ages of the world—designing men and tyrants, had always employed the same powerful agent to destroy the liberties o( the People.Resolved, That our patriotic fathers did not resist Foreign Bondage for Gold but for L lerty—Constitutional Liberty, and that mJhe same spirit we will not be betray-n*mr»9 ei™’^ral cry of “BANK,-BANK or •• OLD” from the just and on-now before the people, to wit tmRC?Y witl a-iMts horrors or LIB.. 1 * ,?,ch a* Was bequeathed lo us b? theheroes of the Revolution.Reso/tirr/, That all the energies we possess shall be exerted to check our rulers in their wicked career to Despotism—and to proclaim to adjacent town., that here at least they shall be compelled to accept of condemna-people! The car luckily escaped irom the hands ofthc goths who destroyed the balloon.It is said that some slight fissures had been observed in the tissues, on the evening before the balloon was to have ascended.Whatever may have been the canteof the accident, it is very fortunate that it look place before the voyagera had taken Uictr departure.
