PRINCETON (AP) — An eld erly Mercer County couple has pleaded guilty to charges stem ming from the $300,000 robbery last January of the home of coal operator C. A. Clyborne. Jacob Handy, 66, pleaded guil ty to a charge of aiding Wil liam “rabbit’’ Martin escape from the Mercer County jail, Martin was convicted of bur glary in that case and sentenced to life imprisonment as an habit ual criminal. He escaped custo dy, but was captured this month, in Parkersburg. Handy's common law wife, in dicted ‘under the name Anita Howard, pleaded guilty to a charge of lying while under oath. She told court officials Martin paid her to testify he was with her when the crime sup posedly occurred.
