WEOL becoming ABC affiliateRadio station WEOL will become an affiliate of the American Broadcasting Co. radio network Nov. 4, Paul Nakel, WEOL vice president and general manager announced today.WEOL will maintain its affiliation with the Mutual Broadcasting System for live coverage of Notre Dame football and other sports features, however, and both ABC and Mutual networks will be used for coverage of the Nov. 5 election results.The affiliation will allow WEOL to air national and International news via ABC at 30 minutes past each hour between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p in-daily and to broadcast the commentaries of Paul Harvey and Fulton Lewis HLHarvey will he heard twice daily and Le^is each day at 7 p.m.LOCAL NEWS will be broadcast hourly beginning at 7 a.m. The Mid-Day report, a iS-minute summary of local and area news, will be heard at 12:45 p.m.Besides the affiliation with the ABC and Mutual radio networks, WEOL maintains local news bureaus in Lorain and Elyria, is a member of the United Press International wire service and leases a direct line to the weather bureau at Hopkins International Airport for the forecasting of weather conditions..
