Cpl. Clyde C. Webb, former Metalton miner, was killed in action in France on August 31, the war department has notified his mother, Mrs. Pearl Hicks, of Thirteenth street. The 23-year old infantryman had been in the army for five years and went overseas 23 months ago, first to England and then to France. Be sides his mother, he is survived by two married sisters who live in Rainelle, and eight half brothers and sisters.
