So the last week of October was not an open one for hunters, the Governor’s special proclamation suspending it fur the present. The season has been so dry that it seems but ordinary precaution to keep the woods from being overrun with hunters. The hunters have not complained as the warm weather would have made the keeping of the meat nearly impodble and a consequent loss of thousands *»f dollars would have resulted. It is probable that the week’s sport is but jostponed as the legislature will undoubtedK' provide for the hunters by a special act, when there is still less danger of forest fires.
