And the Five Victims Caught Were Each Fined 35.. For some time the police have been watching a certain barn on East Sec ond street, near Park avenue, where a gambling den was said to be located. Yesterday afternoon when most of Plainfield’s good citizens were coming home from church, Sergeant Kiely made a little raid all by himself and captured five victims who were enjoy ing themselves there. The Sergeant kindly informed them of the fact that they were all his prisoners and that if some of them did run away he would catch them again. The prisoners fol lowed their captor, however, over to the jail and Judge Coddington soon came and fined John Long, Harrison Randolph, Geo. Nolan, William, Mc Cready and Frank Herbert $5 each for gambling. They all pleaded guilty and said that they were simply having a friendly game.
