BLINN, JOHN BULLIS-* * • Larkin W.Carr, of Benson, a man whom we consider a gentleman in every particular, and if elected to the office of sheriff of this county, would do honor to the position. We have not had the honor of Mr. Carr's acquaintance as long as either of the other two candidates, but consider him above the shafts of malice. —Republican, Oct. G.The doughface organ claims that if Neagle is elected he will “run the whole county. Correct for once.—From Neagle organ, October 15.ALL DltOKK I rSince this paper passed under its present management it has worked faithfully and consistently (or the advancement of tho principles of democracy, and tho success of the ticket pla ed in the field by the representatives of that grand old parly. To be successful it was necessary to orusb out the “ half-breed serpent of “ indepeiidentism’' which, under the guise of democracy, hoped to crawl into the councils of the party and betray them on the 7th of November by the election of a man who, without political principles, would hesitate at nothing which would contribute to the accomplishment of his purposes. It is now eleven days before voice of the people will be expressed in their silent but potent ballots, and already the backbone of “ half-breed indepemleutism ” is broken in this county, and its follow, urs thrown into confusion and dis order. Their efforts to manufacture political capital have been futile and impotent. Their lost resort has been to accuse the deinociatic parly of this county of intending to throw their votes for the republican candidate for sheriff, that with his election the Karp faction might control the destinies of the county for the ensuing two years. This was their stock in trade. They constantly asserted and reiterated that Neagle had driven the Earpa from the country, when they dare.not deny that, thuir candidate not only had no purl in it, never arrested, or assisted to arrest, one of them, but positively refused to join a posse raised for that purpose. In the face of nil this we find Judge Herring, the adviser, trua ted friend and defender of the Karps, stumping the county with and accompanied by Neagle. Can henow assert, or make the voters of thiscounty beliovo he is not, and if elected will be a friend ot theirs, and will, as compensation for Judge Herring’s assistatfbe, do all in his power to protect and assist them when they return? Is he not far worse than Ward in this respect? And of tho three candidates is not L. \V. Carr the only one who is entirely free from such damning entanglements? The “independent half-breed organ denounces as a lie out of whole doth” our statement that Judge Herring took his daughter in his buggy and carried barley to the Karps. We have only to say that the Judge will not deny it, and if he does we will prove it upon the affidavits of respectable citizens and tax-payers of this place. If there be collusion between Ward and the Karps, which wo do not deny or doubt, there must be, judging from appearances and the facts before us, an agreement between them or their counsel and Dave Neagle. We ask the peaceable and law-abiding citizens to examine this important matter closely before they vote for either Ward or Neagle, and after doing so we feel convinced they will see through the thin guise ot the Ward-ites and the “half-breeds and cast their votes for L. W. Carr, a man bound to no clique, an hottest, law-abiding, industrious, honorable citi-A I. \NT HKSOBT.The “ independent half-breeds, realizing that a certain and overwhelming defeat is staring them in the face, arc resorting to every device and schemo known to the unscrupulous to stem the tide of disaster which day after day is surrounding them. One of their lost campaign falsehood is to tho effect that L. W. Carr is to withdraw and throw his influence and support to Ward. They well know that this is utterly false, concocted out of whole cloth to suit their nefarious designs, and the card of L. W. Carr, published in another column, most completely refutes any such statement. Y'et these “ independent half-breeds ” seek to draw their support from the rank and file of the democratic party. To use the words of their organ, we say, “Democrats of Cochise, who are honest and sincere in your advocacy of the party ticket, will you consent to be sold out to your -political enemy by a gang of corrupt political tricksters? Will you permit yourselves to be shamelessly betrayed by a ring of political pirates under the gttise of democracy? * * * Will you allow yourselves to be led blindly b-a corrupt clique who have not a thought in common with the principles of your parly, and who are actuated solely by selfish and mercenary motives I” We oannot for a moment believe that any true democrat can bo thus hoodwinked into betraying tit--ir standard-bearer and voting lor the so-called “ independent half-breed” who has “ not a thought in common with tho principles of your party.” Do notbeltevo tho falsehoods daily circulated, but remain true to your party allegiance, and victoryrill perch on our banners in Number.AX “ IXOKPKNDEAT IIOH..E.The EpiTAMt has heretofore charged that the clique who are acting as trainers for tho “independent candidate for sheriff would scruple at nothing, however disreputable, to accomplish the defeat of tho democratic nominee. It now appears that these political demagogues have been endeavoring to enlarge their sphere and are now directing their impotent efforts against the entire democratic ticket. Their method of attack is eminently characteristic of the manner in which the “ independent campaign has thus far been conducted. We are informed on good authority that negotiations have been for several days pending between some of the Neagle strikers and the republican nominee for county recorder, the object being to effect a “ trade.” The strikers propose to cast their strength for the entire republican ticket, with the exception of Ward, the price of their treachery being certain votes for Neagle. Whether this infamous compact has been ratified by Mr. Harwood, wc are not in a position to state; but if it has, it is not unreasonable to presume that he will hear from tho friends of the repuh. liean nominee for sheriff in a manner not e^irely agreeable to him. But of one faot ail interested parties may rest assured. Tho characterless political hacks engaged in this per-fidous scheme arc trying to barter away something they do not possess. They are too well known to wield any influence with the rank ami file of tho democracy; and whatever may bo the result of their bargain ing, when it comes to a trunfer of tho votes, they will discover that their sole reward is the contempt of all decent men.Tivcyo parts to Ci | re id I wine I office I dutic proirity s.olfici
