James Kirtland, son. of William and Sarah Kirtland, was born in Shelby county,' Ohio, January 20, 1838, and died October 22, 1911, aged 73 years,9 months and 2 days. Conklins, November 25, 1863, to this union was born five children, one daughter, Olive and four sons, George, Harry, Ed and Walter.’ . ■ * ' lHe leaves * a wife, one daughter, three sons, two granddaughters, Elda and Margaret, a half sister, Mrs. Hattie Kelsey, of Sidney, Ohio and a halfbrother William Kirtland, of Globe,• • • « ’ •Arizona and several nieces ' and nephews and many friends to-mourn his death.The eldest son, George and little granddaughter, Florence, having preceded him to the life beyond.Death was not unexpected as he ■had been in poor health for over three years with heart trouble and dropsy, and he often wished for death to relieve his sufferings.
