Total.—Killed, 5; wounded, 27; 'misting, 1 —aggregate, 33.InroaTaxT Railroad Cask.—The secondmortgage bondholders, ami the holders of income and convertible bonds irnoed by the old New London, Wlllimantic and Palmer railroad corporation, are about to bring a suit in tho United State* circuit court at New Haven against the New London Northern Uail mad Company, for the possession of the road from New London to Amhtmt,MaflP. It appears that five or six years ago the New London, Willimantic and Palmer railroad corporation failed to rate t the interest on its bonds, and passed into the hand* of the trustees of the first mortgage bondholders. The trustees operated the road for two or three years without fully meeting the interest on tho first bonds, and by the action of the legislators* of Connecticut aud Massachusetts the property passed from the hands ofly tofthe trustees directly to the holders of the first mortgage bonds, who were organised into a new corporation, receiving its stockrportt*in lien of their bonds. The new corporation was the New London Northern railroadcompany, which has for two or three jeers past held the line, free of encumbrance, andfound it profitable property, although the original stockholders did not find that the $2,000,000 invested in 80 miles of railroad paid a very large per cent.
