Now named on the University of Wisconsin's Gold Star Honor Roll are 200 Wisconsin alumni and former students who have given their lives for their country during the present war. The Alumni Records office at the State University lists 10,286 Badger men and women as being in some branch of the services of the United States; 53 former students have been reported missing in action; and 48 are prisoners of war. _ These figures are, of course, incom plete, since it is impossible for the Records office to keep up with the number of students who are constant ly enlisting with the Army, Navy, and Marines; and in many cases it is im possible to obtain information on al umni in the armed services.
