Harlan Whisman left for Rapid City last evening for a short stay on business. Dr. W. Parke has returned home from a week’s hunting trip to Lake Henry. W. D. Miller departed for points north on a regular business trip this morning. L. R. Chesbro departed for points on the west line this morning on business. C. C. Johnson left for Wolsey, this morning, where he is doing a job of plumbing. Miss Helen Richardson left for Hitchcock this morning to spend the day there. George L. Fish of Woonsocket ar rived in town last evening for busi ness visit. C. F. Hager of Redfield arrived in the city last evening for a business visit here. Dean Desmond arrived home last evening from DeSmet, where he made a short stay. Jesse Burns was among the west bound passenger this morning on a business trip. E. J. Vickie of Milbank was at tending to business interests in this city last evening. Rev. H. D. Goodenough of Johannes burg, Africa, is visiting here with his niece, Mrs. Wright. Mrs. A. B. Fairbank left for Sioux City last evening to visit there with relatives for a time. C. M. Thomas left this morning for Miller and Pierre on one of his regular business trips. Superintendent F. R. Moulton re turned this morning to Pierre, after a few days spent in the city. George S. House and Miss Grace Borkhuis were granted a license to marry by the clerk of courts today. J. M. Betts departed for Rapid City on business. Mr. Betts has charge of the construction of the Elks build ing in that city. Aberdeen American General Sup erintendent C. T. Dike returned this morning in his private car to Huron, having accompanied the Taft special to this city. Aberdeen Daily American: E. L. Abel, of Huron, remained over yes terday for a day's visit with Aber deen friends, having come up to at tend the banquet Monday evening. Pierre Dakotan: T. B. Roberts and son, Thomas, and Ralph Longstaff, went to Huron on the president‘s train this morning and will go hunt ing near Aberdeen before returning. Mrs. M. Eads of Des Moines, Iowa, left last evening for Chicago, after a Visit with her daughter, Mrs. S. A. McClain, for the past two months. From Chicago she will go to her home. Miss Agnes Morrison of Pittsburg, who has been visiting in the city with Miss Blanche Richards for some weeks, departed this morning for Ab erdeen, where she will meet her brother and procede with him to her home. A thoroughly enjoyable surprise was given last evening at the hom of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Thomas by the members of the G. A. R. and the W R. C., the recipient of the evening’ favors being L. E. Bloodgood. Th occasion was the 67th anniversary o Mr. Bloodgood’s birth, and abou forty guests were assembled to ex tend him their good wishes. Th guests presented Mr. Bloodgood with a handsome leather upholstered chai as a token of their esteem. Daint refreshments were served, the even ing passing most plasantly for all s fortunate as to be present.
