_ The^ Edinburgh Women’s Liberal Association, in view of the forthcoming municipal elections* seeks to benefit the women’s cause by recommending to the electors various reformsin which the sex is specially interested. Amongthese is the adoption of the Shop Hours’ Act, which provides that no person under eighteen may be employed in a shop for any period exceeding geventy-four hours per week, mealtimes included. It also suggests—(1) That applied art classes be opened to women; (2) That women be appointed as representatives on the Free Library Committee ; (3) That the cooking classes provided for by the, residue grant be held in districts accessible toWomen, instead of in one district asat present; (4) That lavatories for women be erected in the crowded parts of the town. It is an excellent sign of the times when a programme of electoral questions ncludes so largely women’s interests in the municipality.
