B. Gerry on September 8th of that year. Its first pastor was Rev. Isaac N. Belch, who was then laboring at Rahway in connection with Rev. Mr. Glanville, Perth Amboy and New Dover then being also under their charge. The first Trustees jvere elected at a meeting held in May of the same year at the old Strawberry Hill school house, and consisted of the following gentlemen: Nathan Hamed, John Yalentine, Peter Moore, Thomas Eddy, Samuel .Gage and William Noe. From the church records we leam that the money raised for the erection of the edifice was subscribed for the most part in small sums, $100 being the largest amount of any one subscription.Wrt miv fn ill P
