RICHMOND — The Richmond AFRO is looking for, and anxious to find, some person in Virginia, who is not white, suffering from an incurable disease (exclusive of cancer, tuberculosis or mental ill ness) and who has $200 to pay for a lifetime of care. Any persons so situated, if he or she is 18 years old or over and a citizen of Virginia, should ap ply as a patient to the Virginia Home for Incurables, 1101 Hamp ton St., Richmond 20, Va, either the patient or his sponsors offer ing to pay the $200 fee. . Applications may be addressed also to Mrs. William R. Williams, 1615 Park Ave, Richmond 20. Mrs. Williams is chairman of the board of admissions for the home, which is supported by the State of Virginia, the City of Richmond and the Richmond Area Com munity Chest. The institution receives annual “appropriations from these agencies and, in addition, receives income from an endowment fund built up since 1889 by gifts and be quests of philanthropists and cur rent gifts from individual con tributors, organizations and ad mission fees The Virginia Home for Incura ties, although supported by public funds, according to its rules for admission, is open only to “white citizens of Virginia, 18 years old or over, suffering from incurable diseases, not including cancer, tuberculosis or mental illness.” According to information from a relible source, “there is al ways a long waiting list.
