Dear Mother:Possibly you will thjnk I have en-'irely forgotten how to write, letters; hut you see when Uncle Sum makes up his mind to do things he uses every possible precaution, and therefor,' wo use that precaution in writ-init’ loiters, and furthermore I must save something to tnlk nhoat when 1 come horn, for I am exporting to re-tuiu some day, and it won't lie long, either.I am takintr pood earn of myself, and lam feeling just fine, so don't think of woryi.tg hecause I want ,you to lie there when I return so 1 ran toll you nil about my wonderful experience, and indeed it is wonderful. Don’t think because you don't know whore 1 am. that lam In some awful place, for I am not. You know Uncle Sumo takes the best of care of his men. He provides them with the best of food and clothes, pood doctors for the sick mid ther is no point missing i for the soldier’s comfort, j There Is never a day or nigh I passes that I don’t think of each and every one f you, and wonder if you are well. When you write please take | a great deal of time and tell me j about noh and every person in the family, Tor I am anxious to know Jabout everybody.I el me tell you n little almut the weather where I am. It is really September you know; but it seems like .fane or July. The sun is high . iml beautiful and everything looks like mid-summer.It is Sunday, and ibis morning ! there was a very nice ehurrh service, largely attended and the hoys all enjoyed it very much. You would he surprised to know what consolation the majority of the hoys receive from the Y. M. O. A. and their little testaments. You see, my denr, there are some very fine hoys in the army, and it is association with such ipen that helps to comfort one.1 have never hail time to write a letter of thanks to the Soldiers’ Aid Society for the cigarettes they sent to I the hoys. Since you understand how busy I have been, I will ask you to explain and say, that the kindness of the Soldiers’. Aid Society of Day I ton, was greatly appreciated by the boys from Dayton, and that nothing gives us greater inspiration to do our host than to know that the denr friends at home are ever mindful of us. Tell them that everybody sends best wishes, and wo expect to meet l hem each and every one when wo return.Toll Mr. and Mrs. Kidder HpIIo for inc. and tell them I will write to them soon.
