LONE TREE — Winfield-Mt. Un ion’s Wolves ended a three game losing streak by beating the Lone Tree Lions 42-20 in a Southeast Town league grid tilt here Thursday night. Both clubs are now 3-5 is loop play. In the first quarter, Tim Hill put Lone Tree ahead 6-0 on a 26 yard pass from Rick Jarrard. The con version try failed. The Wolves went ahead 8-6 on a 68 yard scoring pass play from Jeff Carlson to Jim Car son and a pass from Carlson to Larry Haight. In the second quarter, Jarrard passed 34 yards to Barry Hartsock for a Lone Tree TD and hit Hill on a two pointer. Win-MU went ahead again, 16-14 on a 38 yard run by Steve Nordér and a Jeff Carlson to Jim Carlson pass for a two point conversion. Lone Tree moved ahead for the last time 20-16 on a 35 yard pass from Jarrard to Hill. The Carlson brothers teamed up for a 40 yard pass for a 22-20 halftime lead for the Wolves. Norder ran 31 yards for another touchdown in the third period. Du ane Johnson tackled a Lone Tree player in the end zone for a safety and the Carlson combination work ed again on a six yard scoring pass. In the fourth period, Joe Leach hit Johnson on a 46 yard pass to com plete the scoring, Norder gained 60 yards in 16 car ries, a 10 yard average.
