Southwood Students Observe The SkiesFifty members of the eighth grade class of Southwood Junior High school in Country Club Hills spent the night of Oct. 10 observing the skies. The program was a part of their study of time and motion in their regular daily science classes.Under the direction of science teacher, Richard Evans, the night's program included films and lectures and student presentation of prepared projects.Principal Harold Jones also presented a talk on man's approach to his environment through the methods of scientific inquiry.With the aid of four telescopes, the group spent the late evening and early morning hours observing Jupiter, themoon and the various constellations as they moved across the sky.The students bring their own bed rolls, sleeping bags and enthusiasm prepared breakfast for themselves and met their Friday morning classes per schedule.
