Tyjphoon Toll To 800 Dead, Missing In PhilippinesMANILA, (UP) — The toll of dead and missing from typhoon “Trix” reached 800 today with property damage estimated at nearly $50,000,000.The Philippines Red Cross said. 431 persons were killed and 369 missing in the wake of the storm that struck the southern and central Philippines Wednesday with winds up to 130 miles an hour.United Press Staff Correspondent Rodolfo Nazarena flew to Ue~ gaspi, a city of 80,000 persons, and i reported 90 per cent .of its homes and buildings were wrecked. ,Only three downtown buildings escaped damage, lie said.Weather experts said a new typhoon was forming 1,600 miles east southeast of the Philippines in the same area where “Trix” originated.■v ' ’The new typhoon, nicknamed “Wilma,55 passed 250 miles southwest of Guam Thursday. could not.be determined yet whether it would pass through the Central Philippines as Trix did Wednesday. ‘I *The death toll from Trix rpse almost hourly as areas which had been cut off re-established comr mu mentions and reported, casualties.Feliciano’s Cruz, a Red Cross official, said Trix was “the worst typhoon within living memory” tohit the Central Philippines.
