BOND FOR THEFTP iOVERCOATiCASINO, Thursday.—For havings stolen an overcoat valued at £8! from a Grafton Hotel, Sidneyi Roland Hatton lt;2lj, of Lower Dyraba Creek, pleaded guilty in the Casino Court of Petty Sessions today ! and was ordered to enter into a J recognisance of £ 30 to be of good 1 behaviour for 12 'months. {Constable W. Perry prosecuted and 1 Hatton was represented by Mr. D, J.! Kissane, :i| Constable Perry stated that the 1 defendant, with another man, enter- lt;ed a room at the hotel last week- 5 lend, took possession of the coat lt;land then left for his home at Lower Dyraaba Creek. He interrogated the defendant and found the coat in a wardrobe in his room.Hatton’s father, Sidney Clifford Hatton, farmer,, of Lower Dyraaba Creek, said that previously his son had borne an excellent character. He had discussed the matter with his!-5 son and considered the taking of the lt;coat was attributable to drink. L Witness stated that Hatton hadii informed his mother that he had1 taken the coat and she had advised1] him to return it immediately on his! arrival at Grafton on the Tuesday, n Mr. Kissane said that Hatton hadL never been in trouble before and hisj, foolish art on this occasion was attributable to liquor.Mr. E.
