Disgraceful Affair.— We find the following in the New Albany Bulletin of Thursday:Mob at Attica.—The Crawfordsville Press learns of a very serious riot that took place in Attica, Fountain county, Indiana, recently. It appears that several boats having reached that place? on the canal, the lock in the canal was closed at Attica to enable the boats to return to Lafayette. Cutting offthe supply of water displeased the Covington folks, whereupon a meeting was held and two or three hundred persons formed into a band, who, armed with pistols, knives and clubs, and headed by L A. H inncgao, U. Senator, proceeded to Attica, and forcibly opened the lock Luring the a flair, n young man named McDonald crossed the canal to where the Covington band were station* d, when be was instant ly struck u blow, (an informant say* by Han-J \ • •negan,) which being quickly luilowed by a blow from a club, knocked him over the bank j into the canal. One of McDonald's friends in attempting to rescue linn, was knocked down, stabbed, and otherwise injured. At length McDonald was a ragged from the cn -uaL Me revived, but is suffering severely from his wounds. Thu whole affair, as described by the Press, was a very disgraceful one, and one in which an honorable Senator ought not to have been found.
