New Golf Course At College Will Open This Weekinrcstei(Tf,lt; Ford public golf course, located on land just south of Tex-a* A and M. College formerly us-^ ed as a landing field, will he formally opened to the public Saturday, according to tin* announcement by A. B. Ford today. Prizes will he offered by the management to three classes for the best score, these classes being students, ladies and male players not of the : indent body at the College* jThe tie* course has a total * length of 3,137 yards. Of the j * y holes two are par 3fss; two are i f ar .Vs and five are par I’s. Bothf*1 the par ‘l’s are stiff shots, one be- £ ing a full iron of more than 10 yards and the other being a spoon 1 or hrassie of better than 220 jv^ yards. One of the par .Vs can be P reached with two clean woods, as 11 measures 195 yards, but thej^itother is a three shutter for »ny-jP one but a Bobbie Jones, as it meas-l tires about 530 yards.
