Sheboygan, Wis., Oct. 23,.—(UP) Frank Peternel, Sr., 61 year old wife slayer was sentenced to from 14 to 25 years in the state prison by Judge Michael Kirwan here today after the defendant had pleaded guilty to a charge of second degree murder. Previous to the plea of guilty a commission consisting of Dr. A. Sher man of the Northern hospital for the insane at Oshkosh, Dr. O. J. Gutech and Attorneys A. Prescot and Henry Detling of this city, d eclared Peternel sane. Peternel brutally murdered his wife on October 4, by slashing her throat with a cake knife. He was captured by a posse several hours after the slaying.
