MCNaugh-ton for re-sentence Arnold, who confessed the murder and robbery which attended it, was sentenced' to be hanged November 14 last by Judge McNaughton. An appeal to the supreme court was denied and’ was followed by a petition for? a rehearing before the supreme court, which was also denied; but these proceedings brought a stay of execution, and nullified the original setting of bte execution. His reappearance in district court now will not affect his sentence, it is said by legal authorities, but is only for the purpose of fixing a new date for the execution.'
