GOVERNOR SMITH ADDRESSES MEETINGCandidate for Governor and Other Prominent Democrats Speak in PoughkeepsieColumbus Institute of Poughkeepsie was the scene of a big rally on Mondaynight, when Mr. Alfred E. Smith. Democratic* candidate for Clover nor of New York, and prominent democratic speakers from Dutchess and neighboring counties, discussed theissues at stake* in our stale and nationalelections this fall. Mr. John K. Sngue. ex-mayor of Poughkeepsie, acted as chairman, and introduced first Mr,Hosslyn M. (’ox. Democratic candidatefor Assemblyman, Mr. William Church(Khorne, and Governor Smith. Caterin the evening the chairman of the Democratic National Convention at San Francisco, Senator Robinson of Arkansas, addressed the meeting.
