Shortly after 1 o’clock Mrs. Haldv was aroused bv a noise at the rear part of her house. Proceding to a hack window in thes« cond storv she looked out and found*herself almost t'aeetoface with a man outside on a roof of the hack kitchen. Mrs. Baldy gave an alarm when tin* intruder tied. As lie leaped to the ground In* was plainly seen hy Miss Mattie Amnn rman who lives with the family ot If. L. Gross, next door.
