Falkirk, who cffiaiated as auctioneerThe catalogue contained upwards of a hundred sheep, fourteen sborlborned cattle, eight horses, uad about tarty pigs of different ages of the small English breed. The Keir stock Ins obtained such a wide farao that it is unnecessary to refer particularly to tho character of tho animals presented for competition yesterday. The sheep generally showed in very fair condition, but they failed to bring suoh high prices as they did I lust year—-a circumstance which is attributed to | the exceptionally large decline which has taken I plucc this season in the valuo of wliito stock Still, tho prices were considered high: and had it not been fur the high reputation which the Keir stock has gained tor their excellence and good doing, it is impossible tlmt they could have hronght so much. Tbs shorthorns sold well, considering the Jepres pion in tho cattle trade, and prices, on tho whole woro nearly as good as last yoar. The sale of them excitoda very great deal of interest, and the competition for tho morepromis mg aniffi als was animated m tho extreme.
