Most Mrodcus Murder,—Oar citizens were startled a day or two since by the discovery of a most diabolical murder which had been committed in this county. The circumstances as wo get them, are these. On Thursday the 14th inst. a German named Charles Kohlman residing at Clark's Corners, (Dane P. O.,) sixteen miles north west of Madison, left homo with the intention of going to Milwaukee to buy a wagon. He took along a yoke of oxen, and had about 1 is person about $140 in foreign gold coin. The- oxen returned homo m the afternoon of the day of his departure, and suspicion was at once aroused that he had beet) murdered. A sean h was instituted and kept up, until last Tuesday about noon, when his body was found in a 'dump of bushes, about six rods from the road, end a mile and a half from home. Ho had been sh n through the arm and neck his throat cut, md the money gone. From the appearance* of things, it appears that after the perpetration of the horrid deed, the murderer had deliberately untied a rope attached to the oxen, tied it round the murdered man's feet, bitched it in the chain, and very coolly dragged the body to the spot where it was found.Several circumstances served to fasten suspicion upon one Jacob Gross, a Frenchman re-siding in the neighborhood. He was arrested, searched, and the money of Koblman found in his trunks, with the keys in his possession.— We are informed that be has since made con-fe ssiona w hich 1 Javes no doubt of his g uilt. He now lies in our jail awaiting his trial.
