After 31 years as owners and 39 years of employment at Hemmingsens, Dick and Marilyn Mumaw have transferred ownership of Hemmingsen's Rexall Drug Store to long-time Hemmingsen pharmacists Ron and Donna Dillman. The Dillmans will be the third set of husband and wife owners in the store's history, following the founding Hemmingsens and the Mumaws. Dick Mumaw has been working in drug stores since he was 12 years old when he started working in his father's drug store in Greenville, Michigan. Mumaw said __ that business at Hemmingsen’s is better than ever. “We're lucky to have a continuing A retirement party will be held for Mumaw at Schuler's on November 23 where he will be honored for his involvement over the years with the Jaycees, the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, the DDA and other community contributions. Now that the transfer of ownership is complete, the Mumaws hope to spend time at their second home in Traverse City, visit their family in Atlanta, Georgia, and enjoy their grandchildren relationship with customers over the years. We're filling prescriptions now for the grandchildren of our former customers. We have a great relationship with area hospitals, and have always supported 4-H, music programs and events in the community. We also have great long-time employees, many who have been with the store over 20 years. This is a great part of being in a small town.” He continued. We chose to pass the store along to someone who knows the business and who knows Marshall. The Dillmans have been working here for over 20 years, and the transition's been smooth.” Donna Dillman echoes Mumaw’s sentiments. “All the employees are staying on, and we've hired a new = to oes ae place where employees like coming to work, and do so year after year. 3 Parr to Ron and Donna Dillman, new owners of Hemmingsen's stand under its sign with former owners Rick and Marilyn Mumaw.
