Miss Eilene McGeorge was an overnight guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rees and family Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Shaw; Mrs. en. Hudson and daughter, Fern, Mrs. Fred Paulsmeyer and son, Joe, and Mrs. Phil Mosely and sons were callers Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fret Griffith. Dinner guests at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGeorge and family Sunday were Misses Laura Trower, Mary Jane Rees and Ber tha Rees. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rees and sons and Milarion McGee spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and family of Portage des Sioux. 7 The Olney ball diamond was an exciting place last Friday when Giamett came to Olney for a softball game. Olney was Vic torious With a score of 28 to 20. A very large crowd attended the Duncan schoolpie supper on Saturday evening, October 16. Mrs. W. N. Whiteside, teacher af the school, was very much pleased with the proceeds of $63 which they donated to the Lincoln coun ty War Chest. Rev. N. N. Smelter filled his appointment at the Baptist church Sunday. He was accompanied by his son, Newton. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Ingram of St. Louis, spent several days last week at their home in Olney. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Griffith, Mrs. Armo Phillip and Mrs. Mary Mosely were Bowling Green visi tors Thursday. Friends received word of the death of Mrs. Mary Jane Parsons, widow of Andrew Parsons, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jess Tagg, in St. Charles on Oct. 21, at 12:80 noon. She was 85 years old. The funeral was held at the communit church at Bellflower ehd burial was in the Macedonia cemetery.
