UNCOVER RECORDS OF TURF FAKERSALBANY. N. Y.. Oct. 21.—The seven men held on charges of swindling H. E. Schlegel of Sayre. Pa., out of $40,000 through a fake hotting scheme, are confidence men with a national reputation. according to federal officers who arc now in Glens Falls investigating the matter. T. J. Rharum. the “master mind” of the group, is said to have an international reputation as a confidence man. He is known as “Tattle .Toff” Sharum and has served time in Joliet penitentiary. ^scaping and later being recaptured. The others are alleged to have a string of names, using a different one with every victim in the game, which they have worked in Florida and other places. ___A--
