E. Fagen, recently a resident of Ferry. She died suddenly at her mother’s residence, on Sunday afternoon. Oct. 17. Feeling a little weary, she took a book in her hand and laid down to rest and soon went to sleep. It was during this gentle slumber that the angels came and her redeemed spirit left its earthly bouse and winged itself away to a house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens. Jslla was universally loved by a large number of friends, because of her gentle, quiet and in every way amiable disposition. As a Ohristam, she was never demonstrative. but by all her actions proved the sincerity of her profession. Her life was a written epistle, showing forth the beauties of Cnri3tian religion. She was a dutiful and affectionate child and a sympathizing, prudent and devoted wife. It is pleasant to those who survive a departed friend to call up their prominent virtues as found in the reminiscence of the past; even trivial events are treasured up in the mind and dwelt upon with melancholy pleasure; yea, often there appears a spiritual fragrance around the pathway of the children of God, that lingers and en-.dears the traces of their footsteps on earth after they have been called away.Her loss is deeply felt by those who knew her, and to her husband, mother, brothers and sisters it is irrepairable, save in the person of Him who has promised to supply our needs and to become all things to those who trust Him. A very large concourse attended the funeral. The services were conducted bv Rev. S. Jones, of Ferry, assisted by Revs. Lament and Thompson.S. J.at night.
