KIWAN1ANS HEAR BENEFITS OF WAR FUND IN PACIFICChaplain Charles E. Raynal Jr., spoke to Statesville Kiwanians at their weekly meeting last night, telling of the work of the United War Fund as based on his observations in the Pacific theater of war.A. W. Fanjoy, general chairman of the War Fund for North Iredell, was program chairman of the evening. Rev. J. Lewis Thornburg also spoke briefly for the War Fund and C. E. Keiger made a few remarks on prospects for the new country club here, as did I -j Geile Scarborough.Chaplain Raynal also gave Ki-K wanians a few interesting observa-L tions based on his work as ehap-L lain overseas. He is here now vis*I] iting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. | ] E. Raynal.A nominating committee for next year’s officers was appoint-Jj ed, with Louis G. Bowles as chairman. Other members are Flake Sherrill, Tom Gilliam and W. W. Winters.Winters, as president, presided last night.
