Boarder Cleaning Revolver Kills Daughter of Landlord, Pittsburg, Oct. 18.—Stella Zaborofsga, aged 14, who lived in the rear of 1816 Merimaus alley, South Side, was shot and instantly killed last night’ by Stan ley Karpinski, aged 22, a boarder. Cir cumstances indicate the girl's death was the result of an accident. — Karpinski shot one of his fingers off with the same bullet which snuffed out the life of the girl. Alarmed by the tragedy, he fled. Karpinski had returned to his board ing house about 10.30 after the police had stopped a Polish dance he had been at. He went upstairs to give Stella’s father a drink. When he returned he took a revolver out of his pocket and started to clean it. “He was sitting down and Stella was standing beside me with her baby sister in her arms,” said the girl’s mother, de scribing the tragedy. “Karpinski took the revolver from his pocket and start ed to clean it. Suddenly the revolver went off and Stella fell down, the baby in her arms falling, too. Policemen followed a trail of blood down South Eighteenth street to the river. The marks ended at a lumber pile on the river front.
