WRITER WINS SUCCESS AT 60.Muskogee Woman of Three-ScoreGets Recognition.M rSKOGEK. Ok.. Oca. /.—To have jived sixty years not dreaming that she had any literary ability, and then suddenly to achieve popularitya* an author is the experience of Mrs. Cordelia Moore, a Muskogee woman row in her sixty-fourth year.Four years ago Mrs. Moore was deploring the fact that she had no oeeu-\ pat ion to while away her time. A lit* 1 erary , man who heard her suggested I that she write., But I can't write. Mrs. Moore objected.And I‘m too old to learn, she added.Nevertheless the suggestion took hold of her fancy and she tried, the result being a charming little poem which appeared in a newspaper In Birmingham. Alabama, where the family then lived.With that as a begining Mrs. Woore*has written poetry and prose, being a regular contributor to the Atlanta [ Constitution, and numerous other papers. Her first poem of books, a little volum called ‘Heart Throbs will be issued from the press this winter and she rs now at work on a novel.Mrs. Moore is a leading club woman of the stattf and an officer in several local woman’s clubs. She has grown grandchildren and is prouder of them than of the fact that she has won* a measure of literary fame at an age tvhen most women are ready to retire from active works.
