• ...The death is announced of M. Louis Gallet, probably the most prolific operatic librettist in France. The deceased was bom in 1835, and was a disciple of Emile Augier. During his successful career his name was attached to the works of Gounod, Bizet, Sainfc-Saens, Massenet, and other French composers. His lai-. t production was the libretto of Dejanire, the latest triumph of Saint-Saens produced at,Beziers.
