NOW IN CHARGE.Sister Clara Has Assumed Her Positionin Peoria.Sister Clara, formerly connected with St. Joseph’s hospital in this city, has just assumed her new position in Peoria as mother superior of the Fanciscan SiBters and also in charge of St. Francis hospital in that city. She came from Burlington, la., where she served with remarkable sue cess. Sister Clara was superioress of St. Joseph’s in Bloomington for a number of years, and tben did noble work as chief sister in Menominee, Mich., whore the community had bought a new and modernly equipped hospital from a local syndicate. This she placed in a remarkably short time on a good financial basis, and on October 5, 1805, after an absence of a number of years, returned to Burlington to take charge of St. Francis hospital once more. During her two years’ regime St. Francis hospital has flourished beyond all expectations. Many internal improvements have been made: but the yard, beautified and laid at a cost of nearly $1,000 and admired by so many, is a lasting monument to her exquisite taste.
