The October meeting of the Eldena Wonder Workers 4-H Club was called to order by president, Harry Ringler. Twenty-seven members and five guests attended. Dave Pratt gave a treasur er’s report. Francis Fenwick gave a report on the window display that was prepared by the club, and displayed in Kline’s Department Store window. Pat Mekeel gave a report on the hayride held at the Dean Nusbaum farm. Harry Ringler gave a report on the Federation hayride that was held at the Merle Bodmer farm. Activities for the following months were discussed. The club decided to have a Halloween party Oct. 30 at Howard Bothe’s farm. October 25, there is to be a skating party at White Pines Roller Rink, sponsored by the South Dixon Willing Workers. Members, their families and friends are invited. Dave Book gave a talk on, ‘When to Test Soil.’’ Linda Humphrey gave a talk on, “Selection of a Horse;’’ Harry Ringler gave a talk on ‘‘Paint ing Murals;’’ Joe Bothe talked on, ‘‘Types of Corn;’’ Ricky Humphrey gave a talk on ‘Proper Feeding of a Horse” and Francis Fenwick gave a demonstration on ‘‘How to Set up a Battery Charger.” Refreshments were served by the Wiggins and Mekeel families. Church council LEE CENTER — There will be a Church Council meeting following the morning worship service of the Lee Center Congregational United Church of Christ Sunday.
