MV U. team even though the play in question was declared a touchback instead of a touchdown.' tH. C. Kinney (Mississippi), referee,made the following signed statement with reference to the game;“S. M. U. punted to A. and M. The ball hit the ground and bounced toward the side line. An A. and M. man was the first to touch the ball, but I could not see whether the ball was in bounds or out at the time. This was in the umpire’s jurisdictionand his decision on this point should% »be final.k. • • • 0s • *» ' .“I ruled the play a touchback on the understanding that the umpire ruled the ball was not touched until it had gone out of bounds at the intersection of the side line and the goa* line.”Arthur Wimmer (Texas), umpire made the following statement: /“S.- M. U. punted to A. and M. U. pbyti fell upon it and it was declared dead in his possession.“I reprted these facts to the referee and he ruled the play a touchback.”Arthur Dyer (Texas), head lineman, made a sworn statement as follows:“S.
