Musical Program Presentedat Art Department MeetAppearing as guest artists, members of the La Salle Woman’s club presented a musical program at the Wednesday evening meeting of the Art, Literature and Music department of the Spring Valley’s Woman’s club in the home of Mrs. Allen C. Tyler.A chorus from the La Salle club under the direction of Mrs. Frank Jensen, sang two numbers, “Dream of Spring” and “The Strauss Waltz Song.” Mrs. H. C. Burt accompanied them at the piano.Miss Elsa Brenneman read a paper on the life and works of Johann Strauss.Mrs. B. I. Callahan sang a solo, “When We Were Young” and Mrs. Burt played a piano solo, “The Blue Danube.”Miss Patricia Connolly gave a five minute talk on her favorite music, Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.”Refreshments were served by the hostess and her assistant, Miss Eva Germain.Mrs. Michael J. Bender Jr. was incharge of the business session.
