PROMISE OF GOOD TIME ASSUR ED AT PEARL HARBOR NEXT SATURDAY. Many Yachting Matters Taken Up For Discussion at Last Night's Meetting—Flag Design Chosen— What Constitutes an Amateur. Cunha as an entertainment and general arrange ment committee. It is the club's program to set sail from the harbor Saturday afternoon along about 3 o'clock. The club will proceed to Pearl Harbor where a stop wll be made at Punica. A rendez vous will be secured in the neigh borhood of the old salt works, where the festivities of the evening will be putted off. The following morning a cruiee will be made around Ford's Island. The return trip will be made during the latter part of Sunday after sea. Commodore Hebron announced that he would offer a cup for the yachteran who made the fastest speed returning to this city. A suitable trophy will also be given to the one making the quickest trip around Forts Island. The course will be thoroughly explored before hand, and danger points will be properly cd out. The committee in charge will provide a tempting array of edibles. Assurances given that the yachtsmen will not be required to provide a dis tilling plant for condensing salt wa ter of the harbor for drinking pur poses more discussion at first ensued over a proposition to annex the as sets of the old Honolulu Yacht and Boat Club to the new organization. It was shown that a few old hooks and about $139 in cash had been ty ing In renose for the past fifteen years. While this collection aroused the cupaiity of some, to others it looked lke gold brick. PL. Weaver Suggested that in consideration of these benefits, the members of the defunct organization be given a pro rata membership in the Hawaiian Yacht Club. After much Aipaaneien the proposition was voted down some of the members at the last meet ing, the matter was referred to a com mittee. The club voted upon a ‘design for its tag. The emblem will consist of the two thirds of is entire length, with a blue circle in which is contained a white star. The Com modore’s flag will have a blue back ground, while the banner of the Vice- Commodore will be of red. By unanimous vote, the club mem bers extended a vote of thanks to the press of Honolulu for the assistance rendered in its formation. One repre sentative from each paper was invit ed to participate in the cruise Saturd ay next. All those including club members who are contemplating joining the party to Pearl Harbor, are requested to report to Commodore Hebron not later than Thursday evening of next week. A general engagement with the treasurer followed. Quite a sum was raised.
