The Chinese wanted to prove the low a triumph ; hut they would not allow them even an ovation ; and east off the tow-rope whenever the Chinese forgot themselves. By proper firmness they not only extorted respect and attention from the Chinese officers, but even some degree of servility. They rejoined their ship without any further damage, and anchored at Ciniiit last week. This hasty uotioo we have written from the kind verbal communication of a friend who was on the expedition.
