Construction of New Steel Draw Bridge Taken Up At Meeting Action that ultimately will lead to the construction of a steel draw bridge over West Fowl river on Hall's Mill road, in the opinion of county officials, was taken today at the meeting of the board of revenue and road commissioners, Chairman Albert 8. Towle was au thorized by a motion made by Dr. A. G. Ward to confer with bridge build ing firms to compile plans for the bridge. The action was prompted by R. C. Vilas, Chicago millionaire, who is now engaged in dredging the river. Chairman Towle Informed the com mission that Mr. Vilas has purchased a $150,000 yacht and that others in that section are considers building or buying large boats. Ne larger draw-bridge will be necessary to per mit the vessels to proceed up-stream. A small draw-bridge now its in place over the river. Mr. Towle will attempt to obtain plans for the bridge without cost to the county, he said. County Treasurer George E. Btone was authorized by the board to bor row $26,000 to meet current expenses of the county. Some of the money .its needed to pay workmen for clearing the trees from the county roads, while the other will be 4d to meet the in crease in the payroll. The county's first payment on the new annex to the City hospital was made this morning. The amount of the first payment was $13,000. The county entered into an agreement with the city some time ago whereby each was to pay $75,000 toward the construction cost of the annex. The city already has paid its $75,000.
