Football Team Defeats Winona State Normal Squad Saturday, October 16. Special to the Evening Tribune: Decorah, Iowa, Oct. 19—Luther played her first football game on her own gridiron Saturday, Oct. 16, with the Winona State Normal school at Winona. The game was good, de spite the score which was 41-0, Luther holding the numerals. The Winona team was much lighter than Luther's, which was also shown in the work of their line. Winona was never able to make any gain at all through the line, due in a large part to Luther’s tackles, Bert Narveson and Capt. Ray Storvick, while Luth er made all her gains through the line as that was the only kind that was tried. Arne Sorlien, Luther's fullback, plowed through the line for long gains at will. In the third quarter, Luther’s first team was replaced by the second team. The second team held Winona down to small gains, and themselves played good, in spite of numerous penalties for being “off-side” and were on Winona’s two-yard line when the final whistle blew. The team has improved very much since last Sat urday and by next Saturday will be in great condition to meet the Du buque Germans. The following is the schedule for the remainder of the season, prepar ed by Luther's football manager, Al fred Storvick. Oct. 23—University of Dubuque at Decorah. Oct. 30—Columbia College at De corai Nov. 20—Upper Iowa University at Fayette. Nov. 25—St. Mary's at Winona. The lineup in today’s game is as follows: Lightning is Fast. A flash of lightning lights up the ground for one-millionth of a second, yet it seems to last much longer. What happens is that the impression remains in the eye of the retina for about one eighth of a second, or 124,000 tines longer than the Hashlesta, Luther Postlon Winona Sortien le Cassidy Narveson lt Kruger Oecefstedal 15 Grisset Rugland e Girchke Rindahi rB Quenette Storvick, (Capt) rt Morrison Anderson re Sasner Bens H Peterson gb Westby hb Sara Orwell rhb Maxwell Sorlien fb Strand
