M*.»Y ;\Ml II.I'HThree Sew and Sew Club members and five visitors enjoyed the beauty of a decorated German chocolate cake and then had the pleasure of sampling it with their coffee after lunch at the Careywood Community House on Wednesday afternoon.The cake was“brought by the cake decorating expert, Mrs. Sue Erickson, and featured pink swags and reverse shell border, topped with a nosegay of pink roses, white daisies and lavendar violets Mrs Erickson does custom cake decorating.The white elephant was donated by Mrs Eleanor Jeffries and won by Monte Oney,The ladies discussed quilt making after the brief business meeting and decided that each member should bring two 15-inch square quilt blocks to the November meeting, which will be at the Careywood Community House. These blocks are io be made of nine separate 5-mch square blocks (A 51:* inch block should be cut. to make seam allowance iUKW1TE GET-TOGETHERS The Granite Get-Togethers met on Tuesday. Oct 8, for their first meeting of the season. Frances Shalz and Lelta Anderson were the hostesses. It was decided to have a potluck supper at the schoolhouse Thursday, Oct. 17, starting at 5 p m, Newcomers to the community are invited to come and get-acquainted with their neighborsThe ladies held an election w ith Patsy Barnhart elected as president, Leiia Anderson as vice-president, Jan Jones as secretary and Gladys Bates as treasurer The Sunshine chairman is Elma Jensen. Mrs Cato was unanimously elected as honorary president of the club.The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Nov 12.(AUKYWOOD BRIEFS Mr and Mrs. Ray Delay and Mr and Mrs 'John Wallace were Spokane business visitors on Wednesday.
